NORDIC WELLNESS
Sauna, hot tub & pool
In everyday life, it’s easy to forget what real rest feels like. We rush, we scroll, we power through. Stillness becomes a luxury.

Our Nordic wellness cabin invites you to slow down the Finnish way - in a wood-fired hot tub, breathe deeply in the sauna, or take a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool.

"We enjoyed our stay immensely; it was one of our favourite getaways so far."
"Felt like we were being invited into the family home – which we were."
"Left already thinking - when will I be back!"

How it all began
Rooted in Finland with family values
As one of six children, Helena grew up at a simple lakeside cabin in Finland - swimming, reading, and wandering through the woods.

With peaceful nature, breath-taking lake dips, and quiet conversations in glowing saunas, it was a place to feel present with loved ones.
As the family grew up and spread across the world, the cabin became a cherished gathering place.

A place to reconnect with what matters.

Bringing Finnish cabin life to the New Forest
Years later, living in England, Helena missed the natural, grounded lifestyle that was ingrained in Finnish cabin life.

So she brought it to life.

With the help of her husband Richard and their son Mark, Helena built Laatokka - the first Suomi Cabin ("Suomi" meaning Finland in Finnish) - using traditional Finnish logs and design. Its name is a nod to Lake Ladoga, once part of Finland.

The cabins grew - and so did the family
Initially built for personal use, the cabin became popular with friends who wanted to rent it for their own family gatherings. Over time, more cabins were built - and more openly shared.
Today, Mark and his wife Sibylle continue what Helena and Richard began, staying true to its roots while gently modernising the cabins for comfort.
Each cabin continues to do what it was built to do: offer a place to connect - with each other, nature and a peaceful pace of life.

It all began as Helena’s home. We’d love for you to feel at home here too.
