Laatokka, a traditional Finnish log cabin, draws its name from Lake Ladoga, historically known as Laatokka in Finnish. Once the largest lake entirely within Finnish borders before being annexed by Russia and renamed Ladoga, this lake holds a special place in the history of Helena's family, having been near where her parents lived. This cabin features a high-ceiling living area with a cosy wood burner, perfect for gathering and making memories. Designed to accommodate up to 10 guests across 3 bedrooms and 3 mezzanines, Laatokka combines rustic charm with modern amenities, including a fully equipped kitchen and private hot tub. Whether you're looking to disconnect and enjoy some WiFi-free time or simply relax and reconnect with loved ones, Laatokka offers an idyllic setting for a memorable stay.

Note

Bed Accessibility: A step ladder leads up to the mezzanines. Please note the mezzanines are unsuitable for the very young or elderly.

Limited Wi-Fi: Many enjoy the WiFi-free time to connect with themselves, their friends/family and nature. Suomi Cabin Wi-Fi is available at The Bar. Please note it can be intermittent at times.

Location: The cabin is located close to Horton Road which can be busy at times. The cabin backs directly onto Ringwood Forest, the closest cabin to the forest.

Security: The entire property is fenced in, however the cabin itself is not.

Welcome: If you may let us know your ETA, we will ensure to be around so that we can welcome you into your cabin.

Bedroom 1 & 2: King-Size Comfort

Both Bedroom 1 and Bedroom 2 feature king-size beds, offering comfort and ample space to ensure a restful night's sleep.

Bedroom 3: Bunk Bed Fun

Ideal for friends or younger guests, Bedroom 3 includes a bunk bed with two single beds.

Mezzanine Spaces: Elevated Retreats

Mezzanine 1 & 2: Each houses a single bed, located directly above Bedrooms 1 and 2, providing a cosy nook with a view of the lower quarters.

Mezzanine 3: Positioned above the living area, this space features a double bed, offering a unique vantage point.

All mezzanines have curtains fitted for privacy from the lower rooms.

Fully Equipped Kitchen:
Prepare your meals with ease in our modern kitchen, equipped with a stove, oven, and microwave, allowing you to cook just as you would at home. The refrigerator and freezer provide ample space, while essentials like pots, pans, kettle, toaster, dishes, silverware, and wine glasses are provided, ensuring you have everything you need for breakfast, dinner, or a relaxing evening with a glass of wine. A dishwasher is also available.

Special Touches:
For those who enjoy outdoor cooking, barbeque utensils are available for grilling in the great outdoors.

Indoor Fireplace:
Enjoy the warmth and comfort of our indoor fireplace, a central feature in our cabin that provides a cosy atmosphere perfect for relaxation and intimate gatherings.

Wood-Fired Hot Tub (Private):
Unwind in a private hot tub (booking necessary), designed to accommodate 4-6 people. Positioned outdoors, it offers a scenic space to soak and relax while enjoying the natural beauty surrounding Laatokka.

Sauna & Pool (Communal):
Enhance your stay by taking advantage of the separate sauna cabin and pool, which can be booked for private use. Perfect for relaxation and socialising, the sauna offers a traditional Finnish wellbeing experience, while the pool provides a refreshing dip.

Bring Your Furry Friends:

At Suomi Cabins, we understand that pets are part of the family. We welcome well-behaved dogs for a small additional charge, which covers the extra cleaning required to keep the cabin clean for all guests. Please see here for information.

Pet Etiquette:

To ensure the comfort and cleanliness of our cabins for everyone, we ask that all dogs have their own bedding and are not allowed on the furniture. We also recommend keeping dogs on a lead while on the premises to respect the peace of all our guests.

Responsibilities of Pet Owners:

Please be diligent in cleaning up after your dogs to maintain the beauty of our grounds. Dogs should not be left unattended in the cabin unless a prior agreement has been made with the owner.

Wood-Fired Hot Tub (Private):

Relax and unwind in our private hot tub (booking necessary), perfectly sized for 4-6 people. It's an ideal spot to soak away the stress of the day while enjoying the nature surrounding Laatokka.

Patio and Garden:
Step outside to the patio - the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or simply enjoy the natural beauty around you.

Fire Pit:
Gather around the fire pit in the evenings for warmth and camaraderie. Toast marshmallows, share stories, or simply enjoy the crackling of the fire under the starlit sky.

Outdoor Furniture and Dining Area:
Our outdoor furniture complements a covered outdoor dining area that invites you to enjoy meals al fresco. Whether it’s a sunny breakfast or a dusk dinner, these spaces are perfect for making the most of your outdoor experience.

BBQ Grill:
Take advantage of our BBQ grill (charcoal) to host a delightful evening.

Television:
A TV is provided, perfect for family movie nights or catching up on your favourite shows in a cosy setting.

Table Tennis:
